Because of the serious harm of landslides to economic construction in mountain areas, recently scienticts before beginning of important engineering projects.
In fact it is very difficult to carry out spot investigations on landslides in such wide areas, and good results would always be hard to obtain.
However the remote sunsig has become an advaced method for regional inavestigation of landslides. Aerial panchromaric and infrard false colour photographs on large scles have been used for this purpose.
The steps of research landslides by areas of remote sensing photographs are as follows:
1. collecting the geological data of landslides in the segion.
2. preparing the remote sensing photogrphs and numbering them.
3. carrying on an interpretation of these photographs.
4.examining the results of pholographic interpretation in the filed.
5. putting them together to make a comprehensive analysis.
Photographic interpretation of landslides means to get special geomorphological features and main elements of landside from the remote sensing photographs in order to ascertain the landslide, then to evaluate the main slide direction and deduce the moving made as well as estimate its volume with a stereo scope.
Though the inerpretation of geological and geomorphological environment around the landlside, the formative conditations and genetic environment of the landslide would be known, and forecast about the occuring and harm of the landslide would be possible.
Last of all, though comprarison and analysis of photographs in different periods, we can know the situation of landslide movement and deduce its harm degree to engineering construction.
