Other AbstractThematic digital model of influencing factors of soil erosion such as rainfall erosivity, terrain rise, soil erodibility and vegetation cover information in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River was built up in ERDAS using the imagewise method of geographic information. The imagewise map of soil erosion sensitivity index was created and the spatial differentiation characteristics of soil erosion sensitivity in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River was discussed based on the comprehensive analysis of the thematic digital model. Results show that, the output of the evaluation is objective and detailed which is suitable for the comprehensive analy'sis of the eco Iogical environment. The overall soil erosion sensiti Vity in the upper reaches of the Yangtze RiVer is at a high level. The area with a medium and high sensitivity accounts for 82.8% of the total area-And there is significant sI)atial difkrennation in the soil emsion sensitivity in the upper reaches of the Yangtze Rive r
