Other AbstractThere are 35 cities and 130 towns that have been threatened by landslides and debris flow hazards in Yunnan, one of provinces with the most serious hazards in China. One of the causes that result in urban landslides and debris flow hazards continually is taking ignorance on mountain city planning, such as irrational site selection, lack of cities planning unreasonable methods used for planning, designing and building un process of city construction, and overlooking on environment protection around cities. Some suggestion for mitigating ubran landslides and debris flow hazards are given in the end of the paper.
