Other AbstractThe purple soils classification has been studied for a longtime. Under suitable condition purple rock can formate ferric-siallitic soil or ferric soil. All classification didn't settle the question which the difference between the purple soil and the ferric=siallitic soil. In this article, study the purple soil taxonomic classification. 1. The purple soils derived from purple rocks. The purple rocks are sedimentary rocks which light reddish brown (5YR 6/3), reddish brown (5YR 5/4), pale (2.5YR 6/2), strong brown (7.5YR 4/6), yellowish red (5YR 5/8), red (10R 5/8) or between these colour or main one of them. 2. Classify soils in field based on the soil thickness, colour, clay illuviation cutan, when the soil thickness is less than 50cm, it must be purple soil. When more than 10cm horizon is more yellow than 7.5YR in 0-50cm, it must not be purple soil. When it could see clay illuviation cutan in 0-50cm, it must not be purple soil. 3. purple soils main clay minerals are Mont or Illite. The most important diagnostic standard in laboratory are the clay SiO_2/Al_2O_3 > 3.10, SiO_2/R_2O_3 > 2.50. The soil degree of iron freedom < 46.0% in 20-50cn horizon. 4. Purple soils belong to primarosols. It can be classified to four subgroup. Calcareous soil CaCO_3 > 3%. Slight calcareous soil CaCO_3 0.01-3% and PH > 6.5. Slight acid soil CaCO_3 < 0.01% and PH 6.5-5.1. Acid soil PH ≤ 5.0. The soil genus classification based on the clay siallite ratio and soil rock clastic. SiO_2/Al_2O_3 ≥ 3.50, high siliceous. SiO_2/Al_2O_3 3.10-3.49, media siliceous. When ≥2mm clastic ≥35%, rock clastic. 10-34%, much clastic. 5-9% media clastic ≤4%, less clastic. All are 23: soil genus. The soil species classification based on the thickness and texture. When soil thickness <30cm, it is ranker, 30-60cm media soil, >60cm thick soil. 5. Based on site, species, genus, subgroup to name purple soils.
