AbstractSimulating the accurate and detailed spatial population distribution is one of the important issues in the research of disaster rescue, management and the assessment of vulnerability. Given the fact that the demographic data can barely reflect the spatial distribution of the statistical unit, we take the land use and demographic data of each county in 2009 as a basis and regard ARCGIS as a platform to analyze the correlation between land use patterns and population distribution. Thus we make a model on the whole population in a classified spatialization way and use this model simulating population density in Sichuan Province in 2009(the mean error of sampling is 10.58%).
